These old houses sit directly on the corner of Auburn Ave. and Boulevard. Some of them seemed to be lived in, but I think that most of them were empty. A lot of them had boards over the windows, and some of them needed repairs. They were also the only houses in the area that were fenced in. I think it’s interesting to see how the houses start as soon as you get to Boulevard because as I’ve learned from my research, when Boulevard was made, they had to tear down a lot of the houses in the area. It’s also the boundary for Old Fourth Ward, so as soon as you get into Old Fourth Ward, houses appear. Another old house that sits directly across the street, is the home in which Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was born in.
