How to Apply

Applications are due by March 1, 2022. You will be notified about your application’s status on March 25, 2022. You will be required to either accept or decline any offer of acceptance by April 8, 2022

To apply, you will be asked some general informational questions. You will also be asked to upload a current cv and a 1-2 page essay answering the following questions:

  • Why are you interested in participating in this NEH Summer Institute for Teachers about liberty, slavery, equality, and the Constitution?
  • Explain how this two-week institute will support your professional growth.

Once an applicant has accepted an offer to attend any NEH Summer Program (Seminar, Institute, or Landmark), they may not accept an additional offer or withdraw in order to accept a different offer.
