Stress– or its alternate pronunciation, FINALS– can be straining both mentally and physically. There are a lot of recommendations from various medical sources about how to cope with this kind of stress that include deep breathing, exercising or, my favorite, retail therapy, however I found a few apps that can be beneficial during this time of semester.

Serendipitor
This app uses Google Maps to create a walking route for you with objectives along the way. For example, maybe the app would tell you to wall 100 feet forward and then tells you to flip a coin to turn either right or left and take a picture of the closest tree. Its very relaxing and gets you outdoors and away from your work for a few minutes.

Epic Zen Garden
This app was demoed at this year’s WWDC. This allows you to play with Zen gardens as a form of relaxation.

Breathe2Relax
From the National Center for Telehealth and Technology, Breathe2Relax is a portable stress management tool that provides multiple deep breathing techniques.

I’ll be adding to this list throughout the rest of the semester but if you can think of any apps that you know of, feel free to post them in the comments.
