Week 3 Notes

January 30, 2015 by Adina Langer

Our third week of class featured presentations from two GSU librarians. Peter Roberts, the Social Change and User Services Archivist in GSU Archives and Special Collections Library, presented on visual resources available in GSU special collections and archives. His presentation is available here: Visual resources GSU Special Collections and Archives 2015.

Jill Anderson, the History, African-American Studies and Women’s Studies librarian, focused her presentation on Zotero.  All digital history students are encouraged to use Zotero, or something like it. Jill’s specialized research guide for the class is available here.  I have created a Zotero group library for the Atlanta Rail Corridor Archive.  Students may request to be added as members of this group.

This week also provided us an opportunity to present our preliminary research topics for the Atlanta Rail Corridor Archive project, following the path of the BeltLine. Students’ research topics may be found with their contributor pages.
