Ajc reporter Chris Joyner has been doing investigation on foreign teachers that are being imported to Georgia to fill voids. Over the last five years Georgia school district has spent over $52 Million in taxpayer money, to pay hundreds of foreign teachers to teach math, science, and special education. There was an investigation on the jones borough company who are responsible for bringing foreign teachers to Georgia, the investigation was called the alleged unfair labor practices. One would ask themselves are foreign teachers more equipped to teach but joyner found that the investigation was about global teachers without jobs had to pay expenses, federal visa regulations required employers to pay.some told joyner they had to pay %10 out of their check to the company. ” the international market for teachers talent is good for school districts but human rights group say the practice comes close to human trafficking and treats teachers like a human commodity, traded between school districts with little care given to their situation and no representation”. “DeKalb school buses have been known to sit in traffic” Kent D. Jonson. There are too many student on board the bus, the school district in DeKalb has added some routes and changed others and are seeking 30 new bus drivers. With there being a bus driver shortage there are students with no where to sit in the buses some even standing in aisles. School bus drivers have been complaining at school board meetings, about wages and work conditions. To help this situation the superintendent needs to higher more bus drivers and raise the pay of bus drivers.The students are in their safety of the bus driving official before after leaving school so the bus drivers need to be safe but especially the children on the bus.
