Artifact #4: Lucky Lotus

Lucky Lotus Juice Bar and Menu

Lucky Lotus Juice Bar and Menu

The Lucky Lotus Juice Bar, located in the Ponce City Market food hall (675 Ponce de Leon Avenue), offers fresh, organic juices and smoothies with seasonal fruits and vegetables. The Ponce City Market location is fairly new, opened in late 2015, though other locations such as the College Park establishment have been running since 2014. The juice bar appears very confined, with roughly a 10 x 10 foot space to maneuver within. Therefore, the employees are very packed and frequently stumble upon one another. During my visit, I noticed pre-made juices to boost consumer’s immune systems and fresh, made-to-order smoothies. Lucky Lotus’s philosophy about their products is straightforward: fresh, organic, simple. This notion was exemplified in my order, a berry boosting smoothie. The drink consisted of very few, pure ingredients that consisted of blue berries, raspberries, strawberries, almond milk, and honey. In fact, all their smoothies exhibited this simplistic and natural principle to ensure and promote a healthy lifestyle. At the bar, the line was dauntingly long; the audience of Ponce City Market demanded their drinks. The employees were constantly immersed within completing orders for the never-ending customers. Because of the busy atmosphere, the intimacy between the consumer and the business lacked. The employees appeared more concerned and stressed with the workload which resulted in a lack of affinity when consulting with the cashiers to take orders; a friendly consumer and business dynamic suffered. In reference to the furniture, the bar integrated modern, industrial designs with dark, steeling-looking framework. Contrastingly, the decorations incorporated numerous vibrant colors to act symbolic of various fruits and vegetables. In fact, they even displayed banana’s and greens as a source of decorations. Ultimately, the site serves as a quick pick-me-up for consumers in dire need of a refreshing drink to cleanse their system or as a juice bar for customers craving a sweet tooth without the guilty indulgence.
