The World Congress Center is located in  the heart of downtown Atlanta. The Georgia World Congress Center is 3.9 million square foot convention center. The primary purpose of the Congress Center promoting and facilitating events and activities that generate economic benefits to the citizens of the State of Georgia and the City of Atlanta the quality of life for every Georgian.

The Congress Center is divided into 3 buildings; building A, building B and building C. The first building I visited building was A. In this building was the most busiest and crowded. It was a eye-contacts convention. I also noticed some other meetings was going on in a ballroom.  There were varies ads and posters posted everywhere. In order to accommodate a lot of people there are a lot of long escalators throughout the center. The walls are very white and clean which forces you to pay more of your attention to the ads.  The interior space is very modern. I noticed it wasn’t too many lounging areas, just a lot of open space. There were a huge window that people can look down to see the events that being held below, in a lower level.

All 3 buildings are connected through hallways. The hallways are furnished with comfy leather couch chairs with matching tables. The hallways have a little plants. Before walking into building B I saw a huge spiraling white and red stairs leading to a ballroom. And right across there was a fountain.

Contrasting Building A and B,B was less busy than A. Building B was less of a business feeling atmosphere. It was more relaxing. The mood of building B was relaxing and tourist-like.

Building C was more like building B than A. It had relatively no people around. Building C had more bigger windows that look out to relaxing lounges with fountains. It had more vending machines and it had various amounts of artwork hanging on the walls. That’s something that the other two buildings didn’t have.

In conclusion, it was very interesting to see how a interior design helps shape what you feel and expectations from different types of space. The World Congress Center was business-modern but yet also had a relaxing feeling to it’s atmosphere.
