This project we were supposed to draw 2 point perspective. I chose my city, Atlanta, because my city is very close to me. This is where I grew up and I know my way around this city as I used to do art downtown. I chose a reference image I found on google and added my own twist to the buildings as the drawing went on. I took the shape of the buildings from the image but added my own details as the drawing progressed. I wanted to let the drawing unfold as things went on and I am really happy with how this turned out.
Self Portrait Collage
This is my self portrait collage. This collage was something really special to me that I wanted to keep simple. I Used Sasuke, who is my favorite character from a show that I watch, as a base to start from. I wanted to use him because I see a lot of the things that he does in the show as things that I do myself. He will go to any measure to make sure he can be the best, and that is something that I do myself. I am a perfectionist and so is he. The reason I wanted to put the heart at the top is because I always stress about my assignments. I found the heart image in a magazine and wanted to put the heart on the head as a symbol that I think with my heart as well as I get stressed about my school work.
Compassion Poster
This is my poster for the Compassion Project. It is to show my compassion about illegal immigrants from Honduras. Whether this be illegal or legal immigrants, this poster is show my compassion for all immigrants. This poster displays the journey of crossing the river into the United States to show how difficult that process can be. I took a little bit of inspiration from the Trail of Tears, and that is why there are tears in this poster. Honduras is the country at the bottom and it is the pool of the tears that are dropping to the bottom of the poster.
Sequential Narratives
This is my sequential narratives project. This Project contains my story about teaching my brother graffiti. One thing I wanted to do is I wanted to show how complex graffiti can get. I wanted to show that you do not just start writing graffiti and it looks like the pieces you see in your city. I wanted to show that there are multiple techniques you have to master before moving onto the complex art work. I tried to break graffiti down very easily to show people the steps you need to take to start writing graffiti. One thing I really wanted to focus on is that the basics need to be mastered even though they look boring. The basics look like normal “bubble letters” as most people call them, but you need to learn basic letter structure to be able to move on to the cool things.
