In the article she discuss how Auburn Avenue “slid into disrepair” and it was no longer the booming business street it use to be. She also talks about how the street was destroyed in 2008 and the stores suffered terribly from the recession. Adding the streetcar to the street did not make things better for Atlanta or Auburn Avenue.
