I nearly missed this important landmark on my trip. A little hole in the wall, the Atlanta Daily World is one of the oldest running African-American newspapers in the country. While reading about it in several articles on important landmarks on Auburn Avenue, I expected it to be somewhat bigger or more noticeable. Even though I nearly missed it, it is easy to see that the owners take pride in it. On a street with many aging buildings in need of repair, it has been renovated and still holds onto the history it was so integral in making.
