How will your final grade be calculated?
- The final grade will be calculated based on points recorded in Google Drive. Almost everything will earn some amount of points, and the final grade will be dependent upon the total number of points accumulated over the course of the semester.

-The submission form is the way in which we will submit all class assignments and projects. To use it, we fill in all necessary information, such as our name, what category the assignment is, what it’s called, and the link to the actual assignment.

-To find an overview of what’s due, as well as the readings for each unit, you go to the calendar tab and click on the Units Overview button, where you can click on different weeks and find each of the requirements.
What is the best way to see an overview of what’s due each week?
-The best way to see what is due each week is to view the calendar and switch into the weekly overview section.
What is the attendance policy?
-Points can be earned for attending class, however, they can also be deducted if the student has an unexcused absence. Religious holidays, school sponsored events, and legal obligations are considered excused absences.
What are the two ways you can lose points?
- The ways in which you lose points are by not attending class or being late, as well as failing to turn assignments in on time.
What are my office hours, and how do you make an appointment to see me outside of class?
- Office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9am-11am, or by appointment. To make an appointment, an e-mail needs to be sent to Dr. Wharton, and if a meeting can’t be held in person, it is possible over Skype or GoogleHangout.
How do you earn participation credit? Provide a link to the instructions/guidelines for participation.
-There are many ways to earn points for participation. Things such as class participation, study groups, attending class, office hour visit, and much more.
How many points can you earn by participating in or organizing a study group session?
- Up to 25 points can be earned by participating in and organizing a study group.
How can you be assured of earning an “A” in this course?
- To receive an “A” in the class, all of the major projects must be completed showing that a lot of work was put into them. All other assignments must be turned in on time, and attending all classes will allow for an “A”.
What are the minimum requirements for earning a passing grade of “C”?
- To earn a C in the course, we can miss no more than four classes, and we must come into class prepared. All projects must also be completed. A “C” is at least 1,675 points.
What do you do if you’re not sure how to document your participation in order to earn points?
-If there is ever any kind of question as to what needs to be documented for participation, you can stop by during office hours, e-mail, or ask the question before or after class. Each of these things can also be methods in which to earn points.
