Professionalization Series

The GEA is excited to announce two upcoming professionalization sessions for Spring 2017. Hosted by Dr. Michael Harker, this series will address professionalization topics relevant to graduate students in the English Department as they move forward with their careers. The GEA is thrilled to sponsor this series and hopes that we will see you at both of these events.

 

Job Market Q & A
March 23rd, 2017
On Thursday, March 23rd at 11:00am in Troy Moore, four GSU Department of English faculty members will discuss general strategies for the upcoming academic job market.
This informal roundtable will also spend time answering job market related questions you might have. The participants will be Professors Jay Rajiva, Mark Noble, Lindsey Eckert, and Josh Russell. Coffee will be provided.

 

Job Market and Dissertation
April 26th, 2017
On Wednesday, April 26 at 11am in Troy Moore, four faculty members will provide advice about how to conceptualize a dissertation topic, focus your research, and write a dissertation with the goal of succeeding on the academic job market.  The participants for this roundtable will be Professors Ashley Holmes, Gina Caison, Eddie Christie, and Josh Russell. Coffee will be provided.
