Michelle Maziar

Michelle currently serves as the director of Welcoming Atlanta, a public-private initiative focused on immigrant integration in metro Atlanta in addition to serving as the Director of the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs for the City of Atlanta. At Welcoming Atlanta, Michelle leads policy and program initiatives as they relate to public safety, civic engagement, and economic empowerment. Throughout her career, Michelle has focused on education equity and community engagement strategies for immigrant youth and families in addition to creating programs that enable immigrant and refugee families to fully engage in civic life. Michelle is a graduate of Harvard Graduate School of Education where her research focused on education equity for undocu/DACAmented youth.
