Biography

My college career did not start at Georgia State, but I am so thankful that it will end here.

I started my college career at Ursuline College in Cleveland, Ohio. I was one of only 12 English majors, and by the end of my freshman year, I was eager for change. After months of research, I decided to leave my comfortable, midwestern life for hectic, bustling Atlanta. I immediately fell in love with the city and immersed myself in my new-found English program.

Georgia State has provided me with so many opportunities, and I have flourished in the Advanced Rhetoric and Composition program. During my time at here, I have merited an institutional GPA of 4.13 and earned the President’s List Award. My academic success has also allowed me membership in Golden Key International Honour Society and Sigma Tau Delta.

In addition to being a full-time student, I have managed to fit a full-time work schedule in between my classes. I hope to take my rhetorical education and retail merchandising experience to the marketing world, and my study of digital rhetoric has sparked my passion for social media marketing and studying how consumers interact with brands through social media.

In the rare moments when I’m not working or studying, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and our three rescue dogs. We are passionate advocates for dog adoption and rehabilitation, and we are proud to have rehabilitated two pit bulls from dogfighting. We love hiking and walking, and we frequent the trails at Stone Mountain with our pups.

Moving to Atlanta was a risky move, but my experiences at Georgia State and in Atlanta consistently remind me that change can lead to amazing things. I truly have grown here, and I am thankful for the challenges that Georgia State provided me.
