There is evidence to prove that Elisa Lam’s death was caused by a manic episode. That evidence is the surveillance cameras in the Cecil Hotel. A report by Vice news stated that most likely Elisa Lam’s cause of death could not have been a malicious act of violence (Swann). The video surveillance that shows her in the elevator was a four minute video. Many people have also come to believe that Elisa Lam had been sick with tuberculous. There had been reports of an out break before her death.
Interesting Facts:
- The autopsy report done by the Department Coroner states that Elisa Lam had a history of bipolar disorder and evidence of external traumatic injury (Dean). It was an accidental death caused by many factors other than violence or force. She was found in the water tank on top of the hotel with her body already medium decomposed.
- In June 2013, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office investigations division confirmed Elisa Lam’s cause of death was accidental.
- The video shows her in casual clothes entering the elevator from the left and selecting several floors on the control panel. She steps forward leaning her head out of the door and looks at the both directions. Then steps back into the elevator backing up to the wall in the corner.
