Overall, Keep is a useful organization, time management, and inspiration tool for both students and professors. You can check out an overview of Keep in the video below.

Platforms

Google Keep is available on a variety of platforms including Android and iOS apps, a Chrome app, and a web version.

Features

Google Keep has a ton of features – I’ll highlight a few here. First – and most importantly – Keep works across your devices and platforms. For instance, if you create a note using the Chrome app this note will also show up on your Android app and in the web version. Second, Keep has responsive menus that allow you to make changes in context. For example, in the image below you’ll see the various options available under the “More” menu. These options only appear after you click on a note and expand it for editing. Third, Keep features a variety of interface customization options. These include the ability to change note colors, drag and drop notes, and change from gallery to list view. Finally, Google Keep has a robust search tool with options to filter by lists, audio, images, shared status, and note color.

Example

You can see many of the features of Keep below. First, you’ll notice that this tool automatically resizes elements horizontally to fit nicely into the grid view. Second, I’ve included a variety of notes with different  features including reminders (Tomorrow, 3:30 PM), checkboxes, labels (Don’t Forget, Most Important, Look At This), and simple ordered lists. Finally, you’ll see that Keep has the look and functionality of other Google products. Thus, menus are easy to locate and use.
