ABOUT ME

I have been teaching at Perimeter College since 1993. I was an instructor on the Clarkston Campus until 2008. In 2008, I joined the newly created online campus. Because I had been teaching online since 2001, it was natural for me to make the transition to fully online as it combines my love of teaching and technology.

I have published four textbooks Prealgebra, Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and Beginning and Intermediate Algebra with McGraw-Hill Publishing and a fully online College Algebra with Support textbook with Top Hat. I am the recipient of the NISOD Teaching Excellence Award (2003), the Georgia Perimeter College Teaching & Service Award (2006), the Georgia Perimeter College Collegiality Award (2008), the Cole Fellow Award (2017), the Top Hat Author Award (2018), and the AMATYC Teaching Excellence Award (2019). I am grateful to Perimeter College for providing opportunities for me to grow and develop professionally.

I am a member of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC), National Organization for Student Success (NOSS), University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA),  Georgia Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (GMATYC), and the Georgia Organization for Student Success (GOSS). I currently serve as the President of GOSS. I attend and/or present at these conferences each year.

I earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree with a double major in Mathematics and Business Administration from Palm Beach Atlantic University and my Master’s of Science degree in Pure Mathematics from Florida State University.

For complete employment history, see my Curriculum Vitae.
