Imagine the last breathe you took would be on the night of New Year’s Eve. December 31st, 2016 I experienced the lost of a person that helped me through my time in the military. He was one of my best friends and a man that had a great future if the demons he had, didn’t take hold and control. Just think about drugs that ease the pain the fastest and soothes the body best, “opiates (heroin, hydrocodone (Vicodin), oxycodone (Oxycontin, Percocet), morphine), benzodiazepines (diazepam (Valium), alprazolam (Xanax), flunitrazepam (Rufilin), clonazepam (Klonopin), lorazepam (Ativan)), methamphetamine (meth), cocaine, alcohol, GHB, and nicotine” (Wikipedia). There are many reasons relating to the fact that people do in fact take hard drugs. Here is a list of why people may take said name drugs:

1. People suffering from anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression or other mental illnesses use drugs and alcohol to ease their suffering.

2. People see family members, friends, role models or entertainers using drugs and rationalize that they can too.

3. People become bored and think drugs will help.

4. People think drugs will help relieve stress.

5. People figure if a drug is prescribed by a doctor, it must be ok.

6. People get physically injured and unintentionally get hooked on prescribed drugs.

7. People use drugs to cover painful memories in their past.

8. People think drugs will help them fit in.

Lastly,

9. People chase the high they once experienced.

I bared witness to the declining cycle of life of an individual that had a lot of love life and joy to offer. I’ve bared witness to the quick joy and soothing release that hard drugs can do to an individual. I’ve bared witness to the addiction. I’ve bared witness to the chaos and sudden change that hard drugs can do to a persons life.

Just think about the effects, just think about the fact that there may be no return. Just think about the other help that is out present in society. We are here to elevate. We are here to live a life of longevity and peace and surely HAPPINESS. Whether you are born into this world without the love of your creators, know that along the way there are people that you encounter that want to give and show you the love you deserve. Hard drugs can kill, and it did.
